It's Official: Aries Merritt is the World Record Holder
Aries Merritt, the 2012 Olympic Champion and one of the marquee athletes coming to Boston in February for the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, had his world record in the 110m Hurdles ratified earlier this month by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Merritt shattered Dayron Robles's four-year-old world record by 0.07 seconds last September, capping off perhaps the greatest season in the history of the sport for a high hurdler.
